Within construction projects change is inevitable but the approach taken to manage the change can affect profitability and client relationships. Change can often place additional strain on the allocated project resources and can be difficult to manage.
The effects of change need to be adequately documented and assessed to ensure entitlement to additional time and money is not lost.
We can advise, assess and monitor change to your programme. We can include a change of scope to your existing programme, record and forecast a change that impacts the programme or assess entitlement depending on the contractual agreements in place.
Acceleration can also be a daunting prospect. Once agreed the contractual dates will change and you will be bound to them. We can assist in the assessment of acceleration effect on programme and resourcing.
Scope can often creep and increase periodically. Keeping track of the effects of each change is essential to keeping on top of the contracted scope and your obligations to deliver the works. Ensuring change is reviewed on a regular basis is important to ensure time constraints within the contract are adhered to so that entitlement is not lost.
We have experience in dealing with vast amounts of change within project scope, on occasions change has exceeded the original contract value.
Project risk management also needs to be considered when assessing the effects of change. With change comes additional risk and opportunity, we take all of this into consideration when undertaking Change Management.

In order to agree the affect of a compensation event NEC contracts require a programme to demonstrate the impact for each event (or a collection of events, if agreed and assessed in the correct method). We can assess and produce Compensation Event Programmes to show the effects of changes to the works.
You may have already experienced delays on a project and want advice on how strong your position is to claim an extension of time, resource thickening or additional costs associated with delivering the works. We can review the information and contractual agreements in place and advise on entitlement.
